We are excited that you are considering Perry Street Prep Charter School for your child. Perry Street Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K3 through 8th grade who reside in Washington, DC.
How to Apply to Perry Street Prep
All applications must be submitted through My School DC. There is no fee to apply. Limited seats may still be available in select grades. Families who did not participate in the lottery may submit a post-lottery application through My School DC.
Step 1: Submit an Application
Complete a post-lottery application through My School DC.
Step 2: Select Perry Street Prep
Select Perry Street Preparatory Public Charter School and add it to your child’s application.
Step 3: Monitor Your Child’s Status
Monitor your child’s waitlist status through your My School DC account.
You may also contact our Enrollment Team at [email protected] to ask about availability in your child’s grade.
After submitting an application, your child may be placed on Perry Street Prep’s waitlist if a seat is not immediately available.
As seats become available, offers are made through My School DC. Please regularly monitor your My School DC account, email, and telephone for updates.
If your child receives an offer, look for an email from [email protected] with instructions for completing registration through SchoolMint.
Have You Received an Offer?
Congratulations! Follow the steps below to accept your child’s seat and complete enrollment.
Step 1: Accept the Offer
Log in to your My School DC account and accept your child’s offer by the deadline provided.
Step 2: Complete Your SchoolMint Registration
Perry Street Prep will send an email with instructions and a link to complete your child’s registration through SchoolMint.
Complete all required sections and upload the requested documents.
Step 3: Submit the Required Documents
Please prepare the following documents:
- Parent or legal guardian’s government-issued photo identification
- Student’s birth certificate
- Most recent report card
- Final school-year report card, when available
- IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable
- Transfer or withdrawal form from the student’s current school
Additional documents may be requested based on your child’s circumstances.
Step 4: Complete DC Residency Verification (DCRV)
All students enrolling in a DC public or public charter school must complete the annual DC residency verification process.
DCRV documentation may only be submitted through one of the following methods:
- Digital submission using the school’s approved electronic form
- In-person document drop-off at the front office during the following hours:
- Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m.–2:45 p.m.
Acceptable Residency Documentation
Families must submit one of the following verification options:
Option A: OSSE Residency Verification
- An approved OSSE residency verification or confirmation document
Option B: One Document
- A pay stub issued within the past 45 days showing DC tax withholding and a current DC address
Option C: Two Documents
- A District of Columbia-issued driver’s license or non-driver identification card
- A current DC vehicle registration
All documents must reflect the same name and current DC address.

Step 5: Submit Health and Immunization Records
Students must have current health, dental, and immunization records on file. Families should submit:
- DC Universal Health Certificate
- DC Oral Health Assessment Form
- Current immunization record
The health and dental forms must be completed by your child’s healthcare and dental providers.
