On October 28, the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) released its annual School Quality Report. We are pleased to report that our school, Perry Street Prep PCS, received a Tier ONE rating that puts us in the highest-rating for all public charter schools in the city! This is our first year being rated as Tier ONE.
The annual School Quality Report measures the performance of every public charter school and provides data about this performance in a detailed, easy- to-understand format. The report measures each school in the same four categories of performance including: Student Progress, Student Achievement, Future Educational Success (called “Gateway”), and School Environment (i.e., attendance and re-enrollment rates, which measure families’ satisfaction with their particular school.
By using common metrics, DC PSCB is able to rank and evaluate all schools on an equal level giving each school a rating of Tier 1, 2 or 3, with Tier 1 being the best.
Our school is moving in the right direction! We look forward to continuing to work together with you. We will be providing more information throughout the year on how we are continuing to work on improvements to our school model and the measurable areas as noted in the School Quality Report.
