| Men of Perry Street Prep Mentoring Program: The Men of Perry Street Prep seek to help students become successful and support children's learning by mentoring, tutoring, like skills, seeking positive self-identify and personal vision. Our students' fathers, grandfathers, uncles and brothers, as well as male staff members participate. In January, the Men of PSP took a group of 20 high school and middle school students on a ski trip, which provided an opportunity for students to be mentored by responsible and respectful male role models. SASSIE Sistas Mentoring Program: SASSIE was formed in 2007 with the vision of empowering and uplifting women. Its Sistas Mentoring Program is designed to serve female teenagers, ages 6-17. The program focuses on training and teaching social and communication skills to assist young ladies in today's society. Scholastic improvement is also stressed. The objective is to hep build the confidence, character and self-esteem or female teenagers so that they become comfortable in both the business and social arena. Parents of Middle or High School Girls at Perry Street Prep should contact Ms. High to sign up their daughters as mentees. The Sistas meet most Saturdays at Perry Street Prep, from 9 a.m. - noon. |
