Character Program

Perry Street Prep's infuses our three core values -- Respect, Responsibility and Perseverance -- into our classroom curricula.

In the Lower School (PreK-8) the goal is to emphasize one of the character words each quarter. Specific books with plot lines or characters that represent the highlighted character trait are read aloud and discussed.  Students then undertake activities based on the book and word for that quarter.  (To view the Character Word Book List that is being used in PreK - Grade 8, click here.)

Our High School Character Curriculum was developed by and monitored by a schoolwide committee.  A new character trait is emphasized each month.  Throughout the month, teachers use character lesson plans developed by the Character Committee. Student complete character surveys at the start of each month, and at the end of the month to determine how well they comprehend or understand what it means to demonstrate that character trait.
